June 14, 2010-Cherry Hill, NJ-The creativity, teamwork and problem solving will roll right into the summer months as Destination ImagiNation launches multiple programs and activities. From summer camps to internships, there is something for everyone to experience creative problem solving this summer.
“While Global Finals marks the completion of the Tournament season for Destination ImagiNation, there are still plenty of opportunities for everyone to continue the fun and creativity of Destination ImagiNation,“ said Rusty McCarty, COO and Creative Director for Destination ImagiNation. “We have applied our methodology to internship programs, a traveling Challenge from Global Finals and teaching the creative problem solving process at a variety of summer camps.”
Beginning June 2010, Destination ImagiNation will be providing the United States Air Force (USAF) with week-long summer camps. The camps are designed to get youth engaged in creativity, team work and problem solving while having fun and making new friends. The camps take place on 39 domestic and 11 international bases including Germany, United Kingdom and South Korea.
ESF (which stands for Education, Sports and Fun) has partnered with Destination ImagiNation to provide programming for their Innovation Project summer camps, which were developed to unleash campers’ problem solving and innovation skills. Destination ImagiNation will be providing an hour of programming each day to help facilitate teaching creative problem solving. The Innovation Project camps will be offered in select Pennsylvania and New Jersey locations, and you can learn more at http://www.esfcamps.com.
In August 2010, Destination ImagiNation will continue the excitement from its 2010 Global Finals, when it takes the Aftershock Challenge sponsored by 3M to the road. The multi-room Challenge provides an earthquake disaster scenario where participants must solve a series of tasks in order to shut down a chemical reactor and save the city.
