The United States Air Force registers 55 youth teams for Destination ImagiNation on military bases

March 1, 2010-Cherry Hill, New Jersey-The United States Air Force (USAF) is coordinating  with Destination ImagiNation, Inc. ® (DI) to provide its exhilarating after-school programming to USAF base  youth programs around the globe. USAF has registered 55 teams on 30 bases and will begin executing the after-school activity immediately.

USAF bases will be fielding the Destination ImagiNation program across 30 bases for the 2009-10 school year, including international bases in Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. The partnership is part of USAF Year of the Air Force Family that focuses on providing military families with activities and enrichment programs that enhance the experience of living on a military base.

“Providing a program that teaches 21st-century skills to our military families is such a privilege,” said Andrew Whitmire, DI 4-Life Program Director. “We look forward to working with the USAF to train their youth family services staff and to have them be part of our Destination ImagiNation teams and staff.”

The Destination ImagiNation programs will give USAF youth an environment to develop creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills. USAF Destination ImagiNation teams will have the option of hosting local Tournaments or participating with school districts, and will have the opportunity to compete at the 2010 Global Finals.
