Destination ImagiNation, Inc. announces winner of Creative Spark Challenge contest

Cherry Hill, NJ – December 10, 2009 – Destination ImagiNation, Inc.® is excited to announce the winner of its Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Challenge. The winning game was selected for its blend of fun, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

The DI Puzzlers from Orchard Park Middle School in New York created the board game "Destination Tennessee"—a mash-up of Monopoly®, charades and Destination ImagiNation Instant Challenges. The team wanted to make the game interactive and exciting, but also educational.

“The team added a global flair to the game by including multicultural game tokens and fun facts about each of the 50 states,” said Trish Jemiolo, DI Puzzlers’ Team Manager. “The goals were to share the Destination ImagiNation experience while inspiring others to be creative and demonstrate that given the right tools, anyone can produce a product like a board game from scratch.”

Destination ImagiNation will work with the DI Puzzlers to create the final version of the board game to be debuted at the 2010 Global Finals to an audience of more than 16,000 potential buyers.
“We are extremely excited a Destination ImagiNation team was selected as the winner the Creative Spark Challenge,” said Chuck Cadle, CEO of Destination ImagiNation, Inc. “We know DI participants are creative at heart, but we are proud that they can embody business qualities to create a product that has mass appeal.”
