May 18, 2010-Cherry Hill, NJ-After five months of competition, the final videos post to the Destination ImagiNation Start A Team Video Diary contest have been posted. The winning team will be announced during the 2010 Global Finals Opening Ceremony to a crowd of more than 12,000 people, with each team member receiving a $1,000 scholarship.
The Start A Team Video Diary contest followed six Destination ImagiNation teams through the 2009-10 season. Each month, the teams posted videos and blog entries that gave viewers a more intimate look into the world of Destination ImagiNation. From selecting which Challenge to do, exploring team dynamics, dealing with obstacles and the critical role of the Team Manager, the contest touched on the many aspects a typical DI team experiences in a season.
“This has been an extremely positive experience for everyone involved, and the best part is the public got to see six very unique views of Destination ImagiNation,” said Matthew Arts, Marketing and Public Relations Director for Destination ImagiNation. “The goal was to explain Destination ImagiNation to the curious students and parents that have heard about this exhilarating program but know little about it. What we got was a campaign that will resonate for many years to come. I couldn’t be prouder of all the teams.”
The Start A Team Video Diary contest received more than 9,000 unique visitors that viewed nearly 12,000 pages of content. The final video posts highlight the teams’ 2009-10 season experience, and the topics are as diverse as the competitors. Some teams created original songs and skits, one focused on how it raised money for Global Finals, and others answered the question, “Why Destination ImagiNation?”
