Scholarship History 2001-2006
In 1999, the booster organization, VOMBO, was entrusted to be the official
scholarship arm for Destination ImagiNation®. Due to the generosity of those on
the internet, they raised enough money in 1999 to offer four (4) $250 matching
fund scholarships to OM Associations who currently did not have a scholarship.
Additionally, VOMBO contributed $250 to the Roy Brewer Memorial Scholarship
fund. All of these funds were generated from the sale of the 1998 VOMBO World
Finals Scholarship Pin. Thus began a traDItion.
Over the years from 1999 to 2006, with the support of hundreds of dedicated
DI™ volunteers, VOMBO sold thousands of pins, tee-shirts and one-of-a-kind
penguin memorabilia in order to provide Destination ImagiNation® students with
thousands of dollars in scholarship awards. The following chart lists awardees who were the beneficiaries of
their deDIcation and hard work from the years 2001-2006:
