The Germantown Kiwanis Club awarded a grant to the Region I Destination ImagiNation program in West Tennessee.

Margaret Moon, Kenny Kyle, Paddy Harris, Steve Veesart, Nancy Kornegay and Sandy Donovan are present at Kiwanis for the grant award made to Destination ImagiNation in West Tennessee.

These funds will be used to further the program in the region in numerous ways, including providing funding to schools to help pay for new teams and offset some of the costs of the regional tournament held in early spring each year.

Destination ImagiNation is a place where kids take what they know and what they are good at and learn to apply it to solve challenges, working together with a team and pushing the limits of imagination to best not their competition but themselves.

It's a community-based, school-friendly program that builds participants' creativity, problem solving, and teamwork in enjoyable and meaningful ways.

On hand to receive the grant were board members Nancy Kornegay of Memphis and Germantown's Kenny Kyle.

Between them, they have more than 25 years of volunteer service to Destination ImagiNation.

Kiwanis members who regularly support the DI program by participating annually as appraisers at the regional tournament, or who have other supporting roles, include Paddy Harris, Steve Veesart and his wife, Laura, Margaret Moon, Jeff and Sandy Donavan, Elizabeth Wojcik and her husband, David, Sewell Dunkin and his wife, Cynthia, and current Kiwanis President and Mayor of Germantown Sharon Goldsworthy.

Kenneth Kyle of Germantown is a board member of Destination ImagiNation.
